NEET postcard photo: what NTA actually requires

NTA requires NEET candidates to carry 4×6 inch postcard-sized photographs to the exam centre with their name printed below. This is separate from the online application photo — it is a physical printout you bring on exam day. This tool creates the correct 1200×1800 pixel image (4×6 inch at 300 DPI) with your name in a white strip at the bottom. Print it on 4×6 photo paper at a local photo studio or at home.

How to use this tool

  1. 1

Upload your passport-size photo (the same face photo you used for the NEET online application).

  2. 2

Type your candidate name exactly as it appears on your NEET admit card.

  3. 3

Tap "Create Postcard Photo." The tool generates a 1200×1800 pixel image with your photo filling the top area and your name in a white strip at the bottom.

  4. 4

Download the file and take it to a photo studio or print at home on 4×6 inch photo paper at 300 DPI.

  5. 5

Print 10–12 copies. Bring all copies to the exam — invigilators collect one at each stage.

How the postcard is verified at the exam centre

At the NEET exam centre, invigilators check three things on your postcard: the photo must match your face and your admit card photo, your name must be printed below the photo (not handwritten — though handwriting is sometimes accepted if very clear), and the size must be approximately 4×6 inches.

The postcard is not machine-scanned at the centre — it is checked by a human invigilator. This is why slight variations in name format (full name vs. first name only) sometimes pass, but missing names rarely do. Use your full name as printed on the admit card to be safe.

Using the same source photo you submitted in the online application is strongly recommended. Invigilators compare the postcard photo to the admit card photo, which shows your application photo. A different photo can cause issues even if your face is recognizable.
