Resize your photo to NVSP Voter ID specs in seconds

The NVSP portal requires a square photograph at 413×413 pixels (3.5×3.5 cm at 300 DPI), under 500 KB, in JPEG format, with a white or plain background. Upload your photo here, and this tool crops and resizes it to the square format automatically — centering your image and filling any remaining space with white. Download the processed JPG and upload it directly to the NVSP portal for new voter registration or EPIC card corrections. Your photo stays on your device.

How to use this tool

  1. 1

Upload your passport-size photo (JPG or PNG). The photo should have a white background and your face clearly visible.

  2. 2

Tap "Resize to Voter ID Specs." The tool resizes to 413×413px with a white background fill and compresses to under 500KB.

  3. 3

Review the output stats — original file size, compressed file size, and the square dimensions.

  4. 4

Download the processed photo using the green download button.

  5. 5

Open the NVSP portal (voters.eci.gov.in), start your registration or correction form, and upload the downloaded file in the photo field.

What the NVSP portal checks during photo upload

The NVSP portal validates your photo on three parameters before allowing the form to proceed:

  • File formatMust be JPG (JPEG). PNG files will be rejected. Save your photo with a .jpg extension — this tool downloads a proper JPEG automatically.
  • File sizeMust be under 500 KB. At 413×413 pixels, a JPEG at 90% quality is typically 30–80 KB — well under the limit. This tool compresses to a safe size.
  • DimensionsThe portal expects a roughly square photo. Severely non-square photos (very wide or very tall) may be flagged. This tool outputs exactly 413×413 pixels.

Even after the portal accepts the upload, your application may be returned by the Electoral Registration Officer if the photo quality is poor — if the face is blurry, if there are shadows across the face, or if the background is clearly colored. Start with a clear, well-lit passport photo for the best results.
